ACADEMy is a part of a CRIT-2 research project funded by the European Community ESPRIT 20288 contract.

ACADEMy aims at an application of theoretical results of an ongoing research concerning new fast algorithms for the solution of complex 2D and 3D electromagnetic problems.into an industrial quality software package, in order to prove their usefulness in engineering practice and to facilitate their future exploitation in Polish or EU industry. The project concentrates on the class of algorithms developed at the Technical University of Gdansk that can be used in the solution of PDEs in electromagnetic design suites for high speed circuits (i.e. time domain algorithms).

The objectives of the ACADEMy project :

• develop codes based on the new algorithms and assess their accuracy and performance
• to launch cooperation with an external software company QWED which is a SME which owns and markets multiplatform general purpose electromagnetic simulator QuickWave 3D for design of high speed electronic circuits.
• develop the new algorithms in the form of external software modules connectable with QuickWave 3D.
• demonstrate the usefulness of the algorithms by conducting design case studies using the QuickWave3D with external modules developed under the project.
• to enhance cooperation with EU academic partners and possible industrial end users who are assumed to provide the test data and specification for design case studies.
• to develop international contacts, with a view to seeking future partners in the ESPRIT programme
